  1. Oh … … … Bulldust! Yes, it’s cleverly snarky, but if a guy has an actual point to make, he should just step up and say it.

  2. Voting for the lesser of two evils should result in less evil. Voting in a way that creates national government gridlock keeps parties from moving their extreme agendas forward which is generally a good thing. Never give one party control of the executive and legislative branches at the same time. The judicial branch is now just an extension of the parties, except one that is not subject to a direct vote and has no term limit.

  3. George Will’s take on whether judicial nominations are worth voting for the GOP

    • Surely you know by now that George Will has no credibility in conservative circles any more. He’s a never-Trumper, Never-Pencer, and an atheist to boot. George Will say anything to destroy the GOP–which makes him no better than the dishonest liberal media. George Will is Fake News now.

      • This is a tragic response.

  4. Thanks MP for the article. It’s nice to know there are some Republicans willing to put country first. Just wish there were more.

Vigi – George Will is about conservative as conservative gets!! It speaks volumes that he is speaking out this way.

    • Your information is out-of-date, Karen. George Will publicly RESIGNED from the Republican Party TWO YEARS AGO. https://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/george-will-leaves-gop-224801
I used to respect George Will as a conservative, but not anymore.

      • Most of the time I try to read George Will’s columns. They seem to start out OK, but then about the 2/3 or 3/4 mark, he just goes off the rails and crashes in a cloud of (bull)dust.

  5. If this is what conservativism is, I wouldn’t want anything to do with it either. Good for him!

  6. Great article. I was reading up on Max Boot since I know very little about him. Under Wikipedia Political beliefs, this is what he wrote on the existence of white privilege and male privilege:

“In the last few years, in particular, it has become impossible for me to deny the reality of discrimination, harassment, even violence that people of color and women continue to experience in modern-day America from a power structure that remains for the most part in the hands of straight, white males. People like me, in other words. Whether I realize it or not, I have benefited from my skin color and my gender- and those of a different gender or sexuality or skin color have suffered because of it”.

    • So…what do you think of Thomas Sowell and Larry Elder? They’re two of my heroes.

      Comment by vigi — July 6, 2018 @ 4:40 pm

      • “The vision of the left, full of envy and resentment, takes its worst toll on those at the bottom — whether black or white — who find in that paranoid vision an excuse for counterproductive and ultimately self-destructive attitudes and behavior.” T. Sowell

    • I left them during their ’92 convention when they went all in on the culture wars and began tacking sharply rightward. That rightward shift has continued to grotesque extremes, accompanied by an extreme dumbing down of their base and their candidates. I spent a number of years as a split ticket voter but even though I’ve gotten more conservative with age, as most do, I’ve become a mostly D voter. That’s not because I love the Democratic Party — I do not. I will probably take an NP ballot for the rest of my life. But when the choice is an imperfect centrist or a moronic firebrand, I take the former.
