Thanks for the heads up about including more information on our “Elections” page of our web site. Will do! But here’s some quick info: The forums sponsored by the LWV, Historial Preservation Socity, BASE School and CLASS are all open to the public and free. The others are for members and their guests and include a fee for lunch.

Hi Lauren,
Lena Tam suggested I check out your site. I am pleasantly surprise my letter-to-the-editor made it into your blog! Very cool.
Best,
Michael Lee

Here is a copy of a note that I sent to Don Roberts at the Alameda Daily News.

Hi Don:
The slate claims to be campaigning in a clean and ethical manner. Isn’t it ironic that wherever they put up the slate signs the “BEVERLY JOHNSON FOR MAYOR – SUPPORT MEASURE A” signs come down. We are then called to replace the “Johnson” signs.
The slate signs — deHann, Bail, and Thompson, are often put up without permission. For example, at the “Old Del Monte” property fence along Buena Vista, the property owner has to pay employees to remove Slate signs. Mayor Johnson has permission to place signs there. Last night, November 2nd — 3rd, the Johnson signs were again removed and the slate signs again went up without permission.
I have been told more than once that it seems as though the slate is trying to buy their seats. Full page advertisements, reduced versions, news paper inserts, and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of signs that are replacing the “Johnson” signs seems to make some suspicious.
Beverly Johnson is clearly operating on a grass routes budget.

Bob, this is despicable behavior by the Slate. I don’t see your letter being published yet by Don Roberts (no surprises there).
First they deface public property, now they take down opponents signs … sheesh, are these the same people claiming to represent Alameda?

Hi:
Regarding: Johnson signs and The Alameda News.
Does anyone else find it strange that the responses to my letter came before my actual letter was printed?

Despicable behavior? The Alameda Times-Star, Oakland Tribune and Alameda Journal are all properties owned by MediaNewsGroupt out of Denver.
Jeff Mitchell, Kelly Rayburn and Alan Lopez all write interchangeably for each of those papers, and have routinely disregarded material that I have sent in over the past couple of months.
BevDad – You’re just getting a taste from Don of your own medicine.

Hi:
Here we go… Looks like Tony Daysog is going on stirring it up.
I I wonder if he will be able to get out of the pot before it boils?

Hello. My family and I are considering buying at Bayport. Could anybody offer a resource that is non-baised. This is a really hard decsion to buy a home and I feel like the sales people only tell you what you want to hear. I have interest in finding out how people like living in Bayport and most importantly, I would like to know how the first year of RubyBridges was. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

A yellow flyer entitled ‘Say no to the Ron Cowan Land Swap!’, from a group calling themselves ‘Citizens Against the Land Swap’ was placed under my door mat the other day. It provides names, phone numbers and email addresses for Council Members but only a phone number for the organization. I generally agree with the sentiment of the flyer, but find that it is poorly thought our and written. As examples, I find it very difficult to agree that the Milf Albright course is ‘historic’, or that the parcel Ron Cowan wants to swap out to the City is either unusable or unsalable. Who are the leaders of this group?
The flyer style reminds me a lot of past CLASS releases.
