Looks like Chochenyo Park will finally be getting its little play area after much debate and people actually opposing having a playground here. The final approval for this more natural play space will be on deck at the Rec and Park commission on Thursday:

It will be located here:

It’s all very charming and imaginative and, hopefully, the folks who were dead set against any play area at all out of fears of brightly colored plastic marring their park will come around and actually support this little play area.
Hey, maybe when the park reopens we can get VP Kamala Harris to bring a bunch of child actors with her to pretend to play on the play structure while she dedicates the renamed park, just like she did in a recent video produced by a Canadian company, “Sinking Ship Entertainment” for NASA. Then the park can be cleaned by a 3 person city crew forced to use 40 batteries in their 8hour shift due to Gov. Newsom signing a law prohibiting gas powered gardening equipment.

Alameda already has a ban on gas powered leaf blowers.

I love how anonymity affords someone to act super shitty online that they otherwise wouldn’t behave in real life. Put your red hat back on and twirl your stupid illegible sign across the street from the College of Alameda.

This is lovely, the children will love it!
With the increase of families moving to Alameda – having a park with a play area in the neighborhood is a plus. Families seek this type of amenity when looking for a place to live.
And due to its unique design, the play area at Chochenyo Park could become a favorite destination.
