Don’t dream, it’s over

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:03 am

Even though the math is going to be hard to overcome in the AD18 election, Janani Ramachandran is still holding out hope that she’ll eke a win.

The other day she was keeping the dream alive for her followers by tweeting out:

Now, just to be clear, she’s not “down by 4k votes” she was down by 4600 votes which is meaningful and now she’s down by 7700 votes. According to the Registrar of voters as of yesterday afternoon there are 76,881 votes that have been returned and should be counted.

63,241 votes have been counted so far leaving 13,640 left to count.

I mean, Janani R’s campaign is looking at the same data we all are as well and she must know that it’s a long shot so I’m not sure why she’s not being more honest with her supporters unless we’re closing in on a her calling “voter fraud” type scenario.

Mia Bonta’s campaign has already declared victory. The lead is unsurmountable now.

  1. 3 bucks says Trish told her not to concede, “Not now. Not ever.”

  2. This is so sad to see. Like, either Janani or her campaign is phenomenally bad at math. This is consistent with having phenomenally bad advisors who were telling Janani that associating herself with Trish Spencer was a good idea. I hope this has been a humbling learning experience for Ms. Ramachandran.
