Authoritarians never believe they’re authoritarians, no matter how much censorship, surveillance, jingoism, & imprisonment they demand.

They tell themselves their enemies are so uniquely evil and dangerous – terrorists – that anything done in the name of fighting them is noble.

And, of course, the boomerang effect…Did you forget about Biden’s graft and extortion in Ukraine and China deals?

Freshman Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced on Wednesday night she will introduce articles of impeachment against Joe Biden on January 21, 2021 over his abuse of power

Maybe we can agree with this- 4 out of 5 Americans think the country is falling apart…

    • “Authoritarians never believe they’re authoritarians, no matter how much censorship, surveillance, jingoism, & imprisonment they demand.”

Of course they don’t. Because authoritarians like Hitler, Mussolini, and Trump and Stalin all share the same exact mental deficiencies: EVERY single one off them also suffer from narcissism, which means not only do they fail to understand the concept of consequence for their actions but also the failure to ever admit failure and mistakes.

“They tell themselves their enemies are so uniquely evil and dangerous – terrorists – that anything done in the name of fighting them is noble.”

Oh the sweet, sweet irony of that statement, where a sitting president literally encourages LITERAL terrorists to storm our nation’s capital for nothing more than to attempt a coup to prevent the WILL of the people- people like me- who from day one saw Trump for what he is- a dangerous man unfit for office- and voted his sorry ass out of office. And as a result 5 people lay dead- one a police officer who had his head bashed in with a fire extinguisher.

“And, of course, the boomerang effect…Did you forget about Biden’s graft and extortion in Ukraine and China deals? ”

No. We have not forgot. What we remember however is that your claim is 100% bullshit. Bullshit that was conjured up by Trump’s utterly batshit insane lawyer- a lawyer who as we speak Trump is now refusing to pay- a lawyer who ALSO made, full encouraging comments to commit violence to the aforementioned terrorists who later stormed the capital, who is soon to be disbarred and like Trump, will likely face federal charges for instigating violent, seditious acts against our country.

“We have found no evidence to contradict that, and Trump hasn’t provided any. We also found no evidence that Joe Biden used his position as vice president to enrich his son.”

“BREAKING: GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to Introduce Articles of Impeachment Against Joe Biden on…

LOL! Yeah… good luck with that. In a matter of days the GOP will lose both the house and Senate. The GOP will have no power. Power that they lost due to their embrace of a con-man for 4 years. They made their bed and now they will sleep in it.

“Maybe we can agree with this- 4 out of 5 Americans think the country is falling apart…”

Having a dictator wannabe has that effect. Luckily real adults are about to take back the reins.

If you aren’t happy with that then you are free to sell your house, pack your bags, and move to a country that has a leader like Trump ( I’m thinking Russia)

Lauren, can we just bad this guy? I think we have had enough of Trump and his supporters.

    • You made a mistake. It’s Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-QAnon).

  2. Tip hat to 10 Republicans who voted to impeach. Some of them were surprises. Hopefully, they don’t pay too high a cost.

  4. So… some 4 years of the utter chaos we have endured I have wondered: How did we get to this position? How is it that we now have some 70+ million Americans, many of them decent people- who even as we speak, after having had our nation’s capital violently attacked- still approve of this imposter. How do people go from finding certain behaviors to be awful to but then do a 360 and embrace them? How do so many people have their values and beliefs corrupted? How did Trump manage to turn the presidency into a cult? The answer I believe is from the following:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment

The Milgram experiment(s) on obedience to authority figures was a series of social psychology experiments conducted by Yale University psychologist Stanley Milgram. They measured the willingness of study participants, men from a diverse range of occupations with varying levels of education, to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts conflicting with their personal conscience. Participants were led to believe that they were assisting an unrelated experiment, in which they had to administer electric shocks to a “learner.” These fake electric shocks gradually increased to levels that would have been fatal had they been real.[2]

The experiment found, unexpectedly, that a very high proportion of subjects would fully obey the instructions, albeit reluctantly. Milgram first described his research in a 1963 article in the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology[1] and later discussed his findings in greater depth in his 1974 book, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View.[3]

The experiments began in July 1961, in the basement of Linsly-Chittenden Hall at Yale University,[4] three months after the start of the trial of German Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Milgram devised his psychological study to explain the psychology of genocide and answer the popular contemporary question: “Could it be that Eichmann and his million accomplices in the Holocaust were just following orders? Could we call them all accomplices?”[5] The experiment was repeated many times around the globe, with fairly consistent results.[6]

    Its certainly worth a read.

    • Check the rhetoric in our very own backyard. Recall that “A Better Alameda/Alameda Citizens Taskforce” printed out fliers with gunsight crosshairs superimposed over the images of local candidates they didn’t like – I think back in 2018. And lots of angry and baseless screeds about “corrupt,” “criminal,” “convicted” city council members floating around on NextDoor that were never fact-checked – same rabid energy we saw from the “stolen election” crowd. Racist white power fliers going up around our city with cowards not willing to take credit for them. Certain Alamedans rabidly defending the racist names of some of our parks and streets, or blaming the Black Lives Matter protests over the summer for the recent uptick in crime. It’s all very sad, and we must do better as a city.

      • Hey you know what? I’m totally not OK with what you brought up above either. But that doesn’t mean I also have to- as you say- check my rhetoric in the back yard because in both instances that form of behaviour is inexcusable. Thanks for playing.
