It took forever to find the right one to pull out the most damning revelation from the first day of hearings:

  1. There will be a tomorrow, the sun will rise again, etc. You wonder how much people think about that when they stake out their various positions in all of this.

  2. The party of Reagan is doing the bidding of a Russian dictator & former KGB agent.

We do indeed live in interesting times…..

    • Dave … that is one of the problems … it is no longer the party of Reagan … sad … very sad.

  3. What’s this have to do with Blogging Bayport?

    • Are you aware that this is someone’s personal blog? It can be about whatever she wants.

  4. There seems to be a new focus on “getting the oil”. Trumps first Secretary of State pick was Rex Tillerson, a former CEO of Exxon. And in Syria Trump said “get the oil”, and now our soldiers are guarding Syria’s oil field. In Ukraine — Former Texas Gov Rick Perry recently resigned from his post as Energy Secretary after recently facilitating a major energy deal in Ukraine.

Something we should keep an eye on ……

  5. What’s crazy is, Trump has already publicly denied it happened, if the Russians have a recording of it, it’s another kompromat – the ability to blackmail using incriminating leverage. That’s a national security risk, and it is most certainly impeachable.

    • More than one impeachable offense in this Ukraine affair, but what’s ironic is that it’s nowhere close to the worst thing he’s done. It’s reminiscent of Al Capone convicted for tax evasion instead of murders, bribes, conspiracies, bootlegging etc

    • The threat of being caught in a lie would seem like a weak tool against Trump based on his entire history and each phase of it. HIs susceptibility to Russian blackmail -if that is the case – would probably have more to do with money and finances.

      • Re: financial kompromat —

My guess — and it is only a guess — is that his tax returns will show a long history of property sales at inflated prices to shady Russians, which is prima facie evidence of money laundering.

  6. Vote for the candidate of your choice, but the impeachment inquiry proceedings are a legal and theatrical dud worse than the Mueller testimony. Pelosi never should have allowed this to happen, as rumors circulate she may pull the proceedings and try to “censure” the President instead. The RNC raised $3.1 M in small donations just yesterday. If there is a Senate trial Biden and his son are toast and it will require the Senators running for President to remain in Washington instead of campaign. Trump will emerge victorious, get re-elected and the Democrats may even lose the House. Candidates need to run on issues people care about to get elected. A faux impeachment with a secret CIA whistleblower at its heart won’t work.

    • Do you have any idea just how stupid you sound? Have some dignity and step up your game, Jacky Boy. You’re really embarrassing yourself.
