National Horror Story: America’s pastime

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:08 am

I’m not a baseball fan or even a sports fan, really.  I do enjoy the Olympics but probably because it’s a spectacle, but I have to say that reports out of yesterday’s World Series game was really quite enjoyable:

  2. Would be interesting to see the Fox broadcasters’ instructions re how to handle. I was watching distractedly, but don’t remember much commentary or the boos. Only a quick shot of his booth and his bunker-mates.

  3. The team from DC, where 90% vote Democrat, have now lost three games in a row…Ironically, they were playing a team from Texas (the Astros) where President Trump would’ve been cheered. No matter what your party it is a bad look, especially the day after Army Delta Force hunted down the leader of ISIS. It plays into the “screaming at the sky” Democrat stereotype in much of the country.

“The hosts of Morning Joe have been hit with blowback on social media after they said the chanting of “lock him up” by baseball fans at President Donald Trump was “un-American.”

Responding to events at Game 5 of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros yesterday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski said the “lock him up” chants were “sickening” and described the tactic of calling for political opponents to be jailed “fascist.”

    • the phrase “lock her up” came from the republican party at thier convention. you get credit for that. also can your prove that trump would be cheered in Texas, cause that’s just your opinion.
