National Horror Story: endless news cycle

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:05 am

Folks this must be the most endless new cycle ever.  Just when you think that you’ve heard everything something else appears.  Yesterday morning I was reading stories about how Donald Trump had reached out to Australia for help with Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Then it expanded to Italy.

Now it’s the UK:

Apparently today there will be a joint press conference with Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff.

We live in very interesting times.

  1. Investigation comes to unfavorable conclusions. [Trump] pulls out all stops to discredit the investigation and the investigators. What a surprise!

  2. It’s the biggest political scandal of all time. The FBI and CIA used Foreign intelligence services (Italy, Australia and GB) to spy on the 2016 Trump campaign to “avoid” US law prohibiting domestic spying. It’s all unraveling now- the taped conversations, honeypots used as lures, fake FISA warrants, and fake Russians-including a claim one honeypot was “Putin’s niece.” All these Western countries have mutual crime enforcement treaties so efforts to paint this as a “misuse” of presidential office will fail.

Sad to see our country going down this road over the last three years regardless of your politics but the truth will start to emerge when the Inspector General’s report comes out this month followed by declassification of documents and likely Federal prosecutions. The Watergate scandal turned a whole generation off to politics. It remains to be seen what long term effects this will have on America.

    • He’s found inspiration in communist regimes recently. Earlier this week, it was congratulations for Mao’s taking of power in China. Now, I guess it’s East German border wall cruelties.

  4. I just got back from Amsterdam and Paris. You don’t mention Trump’s name there. They hate him there.
