National Horror Story: I mean…

  1. A challenge for our resident Trump supporters:

Please clearly explain exactly how and why Trump is fit for office. In your essay, please address the following points:

    -daily lies to the public
-bluntly racist tweets and other racist messages
-brazen corruption, feathering his own nest with federal dollars
-collusion/co-operation, whatever term you prefer, with a hostile foreign power, activity which he and his thugs have essentially admitted (Giuliani saying collusion not a crime, Trump asking why he should have missed out on Moscow hotel just because he’s running, etc)
-obvious, and frankly clumsy, obstruction of justice
-GOP platform flipping pro-Russia while Manafort was in charge
-multiple & credible allegations of sexual assault

Just to keep it easy, I won’t ask you to defend his shocking ignorance of policy, the world, and pretty much everything else, and I’ll let you slide on the whole facist Article-2-anything-I-want thing.

    Please chime in, Trumpkins.

    • President Trump has majority approval among every segment of white voters except for college-educated women, according to a new poll.

  6. Following the news in the Donald Trump era can often feel like navigating an especially dense fog, where things seem clear only when they’re at your feet, and not a step sooner or later.

But sometimes it is worth stating a series of events as plainly as possible, so that they don’t get swept up in the haze:

On July 29, Trump said that the Reverend Al Sharpton “hates whites & cops.”

On July 28, Trump called House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings “racist” after being accused of racism himself for his attacks on Cummings.

On July 28, as part of those attacks, Trump called Baltimore, an American city, a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”

On July 23, Trump falsely claimed that undocumented immigrants in states such as California had caused him to lose the popular vote, saying that they “vote many times, not just twice, not just three times.”

On July 21, Trump said he does not believe that freshman Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts are “capable of loving our Country.”

    — Here is to hoping that the Democratic aspirants think more about ridding us of him than each other.

    • Judging from the crew of Dims running for President and if Trump decides to run for a second term he’ll win in a landslide…thank god.
