Do not want

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:01 am

Given the number of signature gatherers being paid by the signature that are wandering out there to place on the ballot an initiative to zone the GSA property from

Administrative Professional to Open Space in order to block the Wellness and Respite Center a quick reminder.

East Bay Regional Park District does not want that facility. the developed property in question for their own uses. [edited for clarity]

Specifically, EBRP writes:

The Park District has not expressed any interest in acquiring this developed property as it is not suitable for park expansion.

I’m not sure how this is confusing to anyone who is currently attempting to argue that Measure WW funds were raised with the specific intent to develop this particular piece of property.

I found this letter on the Friends of Crab Cove website and another letter full of comments to APC.  There’s a lot of grossness in there and only one signatory speaking, I guess, for all of the Friends of Crab Cove.  Maybe folks who have signed up as “Friends” should review it before letting that document speak for you all.

  1. When you say “East Bay Regional Park District does not want that facility,” I thought you meant they don’t want the homeless respite center. Maybe I was the only one who misinterpreted (until I read the full post), but thought I’d point it out.

  2. Lauren, did you intend to include a link to the letter you found on the Friends’ website?

    • No, not today. That other letter deserves its own post.
