Blue dot cafe gratitude

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:01 am

I had a whole other post lined up about the Planning Board meeting on Monday night but instead this is going to be a post about complete and utter gratitude to the folks in this town.

Yesterday I lost my phone.

Now it’s not just my phone, I have one of those stickable wallet things on the back so it’s my phone and my wallet.

As you can imagine there was a string of curses that left my mouth after discovering that the wallet/phone was not in my back pocket, coat pocket, or car as it should be.  Fortunately I knew the only place where it could be was around where I had dropped #1 daughter off for an after school activity.  I was even able to pinpoint the last time I saw it which was when I pulled it out to read off a text message.

I made the long trek back to the activity location, but it wasn’t there either.  As I left someone comes running out of Blue Dot Cafe and announces that they have my phone/wallet.  Yay!  She said my ID and cards were all safely intact and that someone had found the phone in the street.

So thank you mystery person who returned my phone and wallet completely in tact.  I owe you like an iPhone’s worth of coffee at Blue Dot.  Email me and I’ll make good on it.

And thank you to the folks at Blue Dot on Encinal for holding the phone and attempting to track me down.

Every time I get slightly annoyed at things in this town something happens that makes me so grateful for the people here.
