Washingtons on your side

Filed under: Alameda — Lauren Do @ 6:04 am

So a few promotionally things, first so many thanks to the Nea PTSA who made the super generous offer to host a basket at their event this weekend to help fundraise for Ruby Bridges’ Fifth Grade Science Camp.  When I asked what type of basket I should put together that might be of interest, I was told not to worry about it and that the PTSA would handle the fundraising.

With that said if you’re looking for something to do on Saturday night check out Nea’s Le Cirque des Reves which appears to be a pretty neat event with cirque du soleil-eqsue performances.

We’re also still raising money for Fifth Grade Science Camp through our Go Fund Me link, anything helps!

Don’t forget that the donation fund for Solana Henneberry’s children is still up and running.  You can click through to donate here.

Additionally, the Ruby Bridges PTA is raffling off two tickets to Hamilton in San Francisco for the Saturday, June 3, 2017 performance. The drawing will be held on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. but you can find more details at the PTA website.  Tickets can be purchased on line at any time or at the school during school hours.

Speaking of Hamilton, there’s a Hamilton sing-along auction item in the Nea catalog.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out, Lauren! We’re really happy to be part of making this happen, and at least two other PTAs said they’d do something similar and/or put the word out to their schools to get RB kids to science camp: Bay Farm and Edison. Alameda’s schools are an wonderful community of communities, and there’s a lot of excitement and drive to help where needed. I hope Nea exceeds our goal tomorrow night, and thanks for the kind words about the event. It will be an experience!
