It’s the first day of school for most Alameda Unified Schools out there so please be mindful of lots of little bodies making a come back around school drop off and pick up.

The most dangerous people out there in the morning are many of the parents that drop their children off at school. They are more intent on getting their child to school than they are about driving safely. They roll through stop signs, speed through neighborhoods, run red lights and use bike lanes to drive in. All in the name of getting THEIR kid to school. Many are far less attentive than they should be, thus they come very close at times to hitting pedestrians and bike riders. Parents, all parents need to focused on what they are doing and allow themselves the patience required to navigate through all types of conditions on their way to school. AND, they need to slow down as they leave school. Their jobs will still be there even if they are a few minutes late!
