City Council Candidate Profile, part 4 of 4: Tracy Jensen

Filed under: Alameda, City Council, Election — Tags: — Lauren Do @ 7:00 am

Tracy Jensen is running for City Council, here is some information that I have compiled about her from various internet searches to help you in making your decision.

Here is Tracy Jensen’s official campaign website.   There is already a list of supporters on her website.   Currently Tracy Jensen sits on the Alameda Board of Education.  Here is her League of Women Voter’s profile from the 2006 election.

Here is a recent Alameda Sun article about the School Board and City Council races, about Tracy Jensen it says:

…On the city council race, Jensen praised how the current council addresses issues, but noted that her experience with budgets would prove an asset. Jensen, who has been known to drag out discussions by doggedly focusing on minute details, said she would insist on increased public scrutiny of major issues. Jensen said she would have liked to see more input from the city’s small businesses before the school board approved the language of its parcel tax proposal. Several small business owners have railed against the tax as disproportionately falling on them.

Jensen lists among her supporters Mayor Beverly Johnson, state Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata…

Another even more recent article about her from Alameda Sun.

Here are two blog posts about the possible repercussions for the School Board if Tracy Jensen were to win her race for City Council, from School 94501/94502.

A 2005 article about Tracy Jensen from the Alameda Journal.  And a 2006 article from the Alameda Journal.

And finally, here are the answers submitted by Tracy Jensen to candidate questionnaire, includes a brief biography as well.

If anyone has more information about Tracy Jensen, please feel free to add it to the comments section.  BUT…if you do post something, please make sure to cite your reference and add a link so that others can reference it.

Updated 9/22/08: Here is Tracy Jensen’s Smart Voter profile.

  1. I will not vote for anyone endorsed by Don Perata. If it means writing in my cat for council so be it.

  2. What is your cat’s name?

  4. Your cat can’t hold office. However, it can vote. Just be sure to bring your Mexican or Nepalese passport to your polling station, along with a note from your vet. That should be enough documentation–any more would constitute “voter suppression”.
